Amazon stops selling ‘April Fool’ Dash buttons: Sky News reports that Amazon has stopped selling Dash buttons, the product which it believed would make it more convenient for customers to purchase their favourite products. Dash buttons were first launched on 1 April 2015, prompting most people to suspect they were a joke – although there is a long history of companies launching groundbreaking products on that day. Amazon to launch new grocery-store business: Esther Fung and Heather Haddon at The Wall Street Journal reports that Amazon is planning to open dozens of grocery stores in several major US cities, according to people familiar with the matter, as the retail giant looks to broaden its reach in the food business and touch more aspects of consumers’ lives. Amazon to close all 87 US pop-up stores: Sarah Harvard at The Independent report that Amazon announced this week it will be shutting down all of its 87 pop-up store locations in the United States beginning in April. The retail giant said on Wednesday that it will instead be expanding its bookstores and 4-star stores. “Across our Amazon network, we regularly evaluate our businesses to ensure we’re making thoughtful decisions around how we can best serve our customers,” an Amazon spokesperson told CNBC. Amazon Project Zero: Amazon has launched a new service called “Project Zero” aimed at eliminating counterfeit products sold on the marketplace. There are automated protections, as well as additional control that brands will have through the service.  Continue reading…
