Amazon takes counterfeit sellers to court for first time: Ari Levy at CNBC reports Amazon has filed lawsuits against counterfeit sellers, after a number of sellers complained that knockoffs were killing their sales and endangering consumers. On Monday, Amazon filed suit against a group of sellers for infringing on athletic training equipment developed by TRX. Amazon expands Morrisons grocery delivery deal: BBC News reports that Amazon will offer one-hour delivery of groceries sourced from Morrisons stores to selected postcodes in London and Hertfordshire. The online retail giant said Amazon Prime Now customers in the selected areas could have their baskets delivered within 60 minutes for £6.99. Alternatively, customers can pick a two-hour delivery slot for no charge. Amazon’s tie-up with Morrisons began in June, but the latest agreement expands the range available. Continue reading…

Alibaba smashes all Singles Day sales records: Chris Dawson at Tamebay reports that Alibaba smashed all sales record on their annual 11/11 Singles Day, with sales of RMB 120.7 billion ($17.79 billion) in gross merchandise volume in just 24 hours. Thats up around a third on last year’s Singles Day and across 235 countries and regions. Other records smashed were RMB 98.97 billion ($14.6 billion) in GMV generated on mobile devices and 657 million delivery orders. Continue reading…

eBay hikes seller fees for Half.com up by 200%: Ina Steiner at eCommerceBytes reports that eBay is raising commission fees for sellers on Half.com. Half.com commission rates will increase on the 16 December and sellers were informed via email on Thursday morning. The news comes at a bad time for sellers, the middle of the holiday season. Sellers who are paying $1.50 on a $10 item, will pay $2.50 once the new commission rates come in to play mid-December. Continue reading…
