Amazon to deliver by drone ‘within months’ BBC News reports that Amazon has said it will use drones to deliver packages to customers “within months”. It unveiled its latest iteration at a conference in Las Vegas, touting the machine’s ability to spot obstacles such as people, dogs, and clotheslines. Amazon executive Jeff Wilke said the drone would be able to travel 15 miles to carry packages weighing 5lbs (2.3kg) or less. Continue reading…

Amazon to open 10 pop-up shops in UK town centres: Mark Sweney and Sarah Butler at The Guardian reports that Amazon is opening a chain of pop-up shops selling everything from food and drink to electronics, beauty products and homewares. The first Clicks and Mortar shop will open in St Mary’s Gate in central Manchester on Monday and will also offer Amazon Lockers for customers to collect Amazon orders.
