So I got an email on Tuesday from a customer of ours, saying thanks for your great service but there’s now a free tool I want to try that does automated pricing on Amazon — and it’s made by Amazon. In fairness, I could hardly blame them — a free service available to them that they were currently paying a monthly subscription for.
I wished them all the best and offered to leave their RepricerExpress account open for the next 30 days, confident that they would discover that our Amazon repricing software had a huge number of benefits outside the narrow focus of reducing their price within a penny or cent of the Buy Box winning price (in fact very few of our savvy customers reprice their inventory this way).
I figured that they would come back to me within a few days but was astounded when I got an email about five hours later asking could they please log back into their RepricerExpress account. They had quickly realised that…
Amazon’s focus is on buyers getting the lowest prices!
RepricerExpress is focused on getting Amazon sellers the highest possible sell price whilst retaining the Buy Box.
We’re finding many customers who have tried Automate Pricing returning to RepricerExpress, having discovered the tool speeds up the race to the bottom — Amazon’s help file even confirms this—when you and another seller using Automate Pricing both have pricing rules on the same ASIN…rather than trigger numerous price changes in small increments…one will immediately drop to Min price and the other will compete with that price. That’s one quick way to go to Min price!
I don’t want to give Amazon access to my minimum selling price data!
Two of our largest sellers (with more than 2 million SKUs each) confirmed they wouldn’t be trying Automate Pricing. For one, the tool is much too basic for their needs, and secondly, they just aren’t comfortable giving Amazon access to their minimum selling prices across their entire inventory.

The features you pay for are the features that are missing!
Sellers have quickly realised all the things in RepricerExpress they value and take for granted aren’t available in free tools:
- No Live Chat and dedicated support team to deal with pricing queries.
- No ability to reprice against Amazon differently to other FBA sellers.
- No ‘Best Price’ options—not just lowest (e.g. price against 2nd/3rd seller).
- Lack of sophisticated include/exclude options on rules.
- Lack of import/export features—ability to bulk import min/max values, export pricing info etc.
- No eBay integration—you can’t map your eBay prices to your Amazon prices.
- No pricing up features for better margins such as RepricerExpress’ Sleep Mode, Reset to Max, Increase price if Buy Box winner etc.
- Only available on Amazon US. No support for multiple Amazon accounts, sharing Min/Max prices, replicating rules etc.
- Lack of fine control on Beat By features—RepricerExpress allows fixed values and/or percentages (Amazon allows one or other).
- No facilities to cater for currency fluctuations.
- No bespoke repricing solutions available. RepricerExpress remains open to customers who want bespoke methods/features which we can develop.
- Lack of filtering. RepricerExpress offers quicker segmentation of products based on pricing.
- Lack of information. RepricerExpress offers a much better UI and graphical information experience, is easier to use and is completely focused on a sellers’ needs.
